2022 Southeast Lectureship Book
Chaotic. That word aptly describes our world, a world estranged from God and steeped in relativism, rebellion, cruelty, discord, hopelessness, and pain. Without question, our society is spiritually bankrupt, over-sexualized, materialistic, frantic, morally confused, seething with hatred, and distracted by lesser things. Countless people who were made in the image of God could not be farther from the God who created them in His image. They have been swept up in this tumultuous sea of chaos and its dark waves are poised to overcome them.
Clarity. That word properly identifies an important goal of the Bible. Neither subjectivism nor science can provide the answers, solutions, or perspective needed to rescue humanity from the chaos. That is the prerogative of Scripture (2 Tim. 3:16-17). It is the lighthouse that holds the Light that can lead men and women to safety ashore (2 Pet. 1:19-21).
Using Scripture as its guide, this book is suitable for high through adult classes, is intended to aid readers in understanding properly to the not-so-idle threats, subversive influences, and flawed messages of our chaotic world.
Note: Due to Covid-19 the 2020 lectureship was rescheduled for April 2021. Therefore, the 2020 lectureship book and program of speakers will be presented in 2021.
